My Camino Journey
¨When you desire something with all your heart, the whole universe conspires to help¨ -Paulo Coelho
So today I did just a hair under 14k today. I feel really good considering the amount of swelling. Again there were a few grueling hills but I think my swelling was mostly due to the heat. I do believe today has been the hottest day since arriving in Spain. I checked into Albergue Casa Magica, the name says it all! I am feeling slightly overwhelmed with people’s kindness. It’s fairly standard to change into your flip flops upon entering and I was again offered ice without asking. The people running the albergues all seem to be so gracious and helpful.
So now its seriously time to relax. I paid 3 euros for a bottle of wine and am currently laying in a hammock with my leg nicely elevated while reading. Life doesn’t get any better!
I think I have been extremely lucky in my selection of albergues. This being the nicest by far.
I even had a little kitty join me in th hammock for a bit. It was funny, a few minutes prior I had thought about how much I missed my Tango kitty. A kitty purring in the lap is so comforting 🙂
Just for the record I am absolutely loving Spain!
Ok, I thought I was done with this post but as I was sitting visiting with several other pilgrims a very sweet German lady approached me and asked if I would like a massage for my feet. She does an aryuvedic technique with ghee and a small bowl made of seven different metals. She rubs it in a circular motion on the tips of the toes to relieve the muscle aches. AMAZING! The muscle cramps disappeared within a few moments of her starting.

How wonderful. Now I want to go!! What a blessing to meet so many giving people. ( Uncle Pete tried to post but it didn’t show up…)
Yes the pilgrims are amazing! Uncle Pete’s post showed! The first post anyone makes doesn’t show right away…spam protection. Next time he posts, it will show immediately after refreshing the page
Do u walk with others, or mostly alone?
Mostly I walk alone. My pace is much slower then everyone else. A few times I have been joined for short periods by other pilgrims that I have met in the various albergues. But it is nice to walk alone since the evening hours are usually quite social. Sometimes even a bit loud compared to the peaceful time while walking. 🙂
One more thing – 14K is amazing! So proud of you
Keep up the good work girl, I’m with you all the way…….
