Getting excited!

So today Uncle Paul and Aunt Ginger took us up to Rockport to check it out.  What a beautiful quaint little town.  A few minutes after arriving I was telling my Aunt that I really wanted to find a Scallop shell for my trip to Spain.  The scallop shell is the symbol of the pilgrims walking the camino.  The shop owner heard our conversation and told us four doors down there was a store that would have the shells.  I was hoping to find one that had a hole punched or something so I could attach it to my backpack . Not finding one, I went up to ask the shop proprietor and asked.  He had a somewhat quizzical look and asked if I had a drill.  I told him no I didn’t and that I was leaving for Spain tomorrow and mentioned I was walking the camino.  As soon as I told him I was going to be walking the camino he said, “hold on, I have just the one.”   He reached behind the counter and and grabbed a scallop shell while telling me it was a very rare version.  He then handed it to me saying it was a gift.  He had walked the camino before and said it will change my life.  I swear it brought tears to my eyes.  What amazing kindness and generosity!

Since a lot of people have been curious about the route I figured I would also throw up this basic map of the road.  My start point being Pamplona.

The goal being the Cathedral of St. James in Santiago de Compostella.
