Highlight of my day

So today I walked about 10k.  It was rather brutal and had several hills that were just plain wicked.  As I came down the last big hill there was a paved road to be crossed and there was an elderly man on the other side waving me over.  I had seen him from half way up the hill thinking I had about the same pace as him and it made me smile.  Once I crossed the road he started asking me questions in spanish and could tell my leg wasn´t 100% he let me know that the next town was only a very small distance which lifted my spirits.  The part that really made me smile was when he told me it was ¨valient¨of me to be doing the pilgrimage.  Yes, that was the highlight of my day.

Below are some pictures from Muruzabal to Puente La Reina.  I took a bit of a detour to walk by a church in the countryside.

Tonight I am staying at Albergue de peregrinos Jakue, which is in the basement of a hotel.

hehehe The only thing to watch out for so far has been the frenchman in the bunk next to mine two nights ago that snored like a damn freight train. Thank goodness there were a few couches in the adjoining room. Myself and another girl made good use of them and slept well after moving away. 🙂
      Love you!

Of course that should say Liza…darned auto-correct.

    1. james says:

lol yeah some of my posts that I have been writing (not yet published due to lack of wifi) have had some interesting auto-correct errors that made me laugh. I have to make sure to double check stuff, or risk laughable and erroneous information.
